Summary
John Stewart is named new Green Lantern by the Guardians of the Universe and he must stop Major Disaster from destroying a dam. Hal Jordan visits Abin Sur's grave and recalls how he first received the power ring. He later learns Stewart's secret identity, and Bruce Gordon has a premonition about Eclipso.; Terminus 3 tricks Damon into allowing him access to Dr. Ryder's lab, where Terminus reprograms the auto cars for evil. They kill Dr. Ryder but his three secret prototype cars destroy the Rampagers and save the city, even as Terminus 3 escapes using Damon as a hostage in the Battle Van.; At the funeral for deceased Green Lantern Stel, Yron hijacks a ride to Oa from the sector's new Green Lantern. There, he demands and is granted a Green Lantern's ring and with it he tries unsuccessfully to save his Grendan comrades from death at the hands of the Krydos.
